After crossing the one-year anniversary since the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted normal work routines, all eyes are on vaccinations. All adults in the United States should be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine in the coming weeks, which means there are lots of updates to share with employees, from communicating the latest COVID-19 information to sharing your company’s plans for reopening.
April is also Stress Awareness Month, Autism Acceptance Month, and National Financial Literacy Month. Below are more timely topics you’ll want to share to keep employees engaged throughout April.
1. National Stress Awareness Month
There’s no denying that Stress Awareness Month is even more important post-pandemic, given how personal and professional routines have changed and even merged. Help employees find healthy ways to manage stress through wellness practices such as meditation and exercise. You can also highlight your company’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
2. Autism Awareness Month
Autism Acceptance Month is an opportunity to educate employees on Autism and increase acceptance. Let employees know about the wonderful events and educational activities they can participate in. Promote local events and suggest donations to organizations such as Autism Speaks, and remind them of corporate gift matching, if you offer it.
Taxes were set to be due April 15, 2021, but the IRS extended the federal deadline for filing and paying taxes to May 17, 2021. The deadline was also extended for residents of Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana to June 15, 2021 due to the winter storms they experienced earlier this year. 4. Earth Day
Since 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated globally on April 22. It’s a day to support environmental protection, and over 193 countries do so through local events, such as cleanups. 5. Alcohol Awareness Month
